Smart City Kochi (SCK) is the first Asian outpost of the Smart City global network of business townships. Creating a network of opportunities, Smart City Kochi will home knowledge-based companies that aim to serve the Indian Subcontinent Kochi will adhere to international sustainability standards that protect the environment and provide its inhabitants with comfortable, healthy and productive spaces for work and leisure. The IT building of the Smart City Kochi in 6.5 lakh sq ft area has been completed. Four line roads of 3.5 km, bridge, sub-station, water treatment plant have also been completed. The first phase of the construction saw an expenditure of Rs 450 cr. Inauguration is expected very soon. 5,500 people will get employment in the first phase. In totto, 90,000 people will get employment when the project is completed.
Infopark located at Kochi, is the new IT Park being developed by the Government of Kerala. To set up this project, Government has transferred 100 acres of land which is now under the ownership and possession of Infoparks Kerala, which is an independent Society fully owned by the Government. Infopark has ambitious plans to become one of the major IT Parks in the country. With this vision, it has been growing fast ever since its inception in 2004, and within a short period of time, has attracted investments from IT majors like Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Affiliated Computer Services, OPI Global, IBS Software Services and US Technology. Because of the fast growth rate achieved and strategic positioning of the Park in the upcoming city of Kochi, Infopark is well known among the IT/ITES investors as a very potential destination.
Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, an autonomous society promoted by the Government of Kerala. This is a CMMI Level 4, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OSHAS 18001:2007 certified Technology Park. Being one of India’s largest IT Parks, it is one of world’s greenest Technopolis as well. Technopark came into existence in 1990 at Kerala State Capital. Technopark companies employ more than 46000 IT professionals. Spread across 760 acres of land with 9.33 million sq.ft built up space ( completed ) & 3.5 million sq.ft ( Work in Progress ) and over 300 companies operational at present.
